The man of God recently visited Uganda on a mission to stop domestic violence and bring peace into families and relationships.

While addressing a congregation at Pallisa and Budaka districts at Namengo Catholic church, which was his first pastoral visit to the region, Bishop Blume pointed out that lack of trust was one of the biggest marriage and relationship pitfalls.
“To build strong relationships and marriages, there must be strong trust. Trust will also help us reduce the seemingly high rate of break ups and divorces in our families and relationships,” he said.
The Bishop added that having a family or a relationship build on a strong foundation of God was very important. He emphasised that families that are built without God can easily be broken.
“We should not believe so much in cultures and forget about God’s role in our lives. We should always keep in mind that all good relationships and families are built on principles of love and trustworthiness,” the Bishop said.
Bishop Blume is the Vatican ambassador to Uganda. He is a renown advocate of strong marriages and vocal crusader against gender and domestic violence.
His presence in the region has reportedly been welcomed with joy and expectations. He will continue preaching piece and teaching locals how to build happy families that are devoid of domestic violence.

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, refused to admit the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to bail. Justice Binta Nyako, in a ruling, held that since Kanu was earlier granted bail in 2017 and jumped the bail, the court must first determine the real reason he jumped the bail before applying for another one. Justice Nyako then dismissed the application for bail. Nyako, in a ruling, held that rendition for the purpose of criminal investigation is allowed. Margaret Ekpo was one of the first female politicians in Nigeria and she made it her life's mission to fight for women in power movement. In an era of male-dominated movements towards indepence, Ekpo was able to play major roles as a politician in the Eastern part of Nigeria. Before she became a pioneer of female politics, she was a women's rights activist and a social mobiliser. Margaret Ekpo was born in 1914, Creek Town in Cross River state. She married a doctor, John Udo Ekpo, who was a civil servant. Margaret Ekpo's determination to educate herself motivated her to obtain a degree in domestic economics at the Rathmine School of Domestic Econimics in Dublin, Ireland, in 1948, The school has been renamed as the Dublin Institute of Technology.
