The Nigerian Police yesterday debunked claims contained in a report recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) which rated the Police as the most corrupt institution in Nigeria. I will try to predict the principles that would guide how people are likely to vote in that election. Redeemed Church Leader, Pastor Adeboye Visits Buhari in London The list of prominent personalities visiting President Muhammadu Buhari in the United Kingdom swelled yesterday when the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, also visited him at Abuja House, London. The President had left the country on May 7, this year, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has been discharging the functions of his office as Acting President. Strange disease kills 50 in Kogi, Nigeria A strange disease, whose symptoms include diarrhea, bloodstained vomiting and high fever has killed no fewer than 50 people at Okunran, Okoloke and Isanlu-Esa villages in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State. Initial reports had suspected lassa fever, but medics told Dr. Saka Audu, Commissioner for Health, who visited the affected areas yesterday, that it was a strange diseases that was unknown. “We initially suspected lassa fever after getting some misleading reports about people bleeding around, so we made a diagnosis for viral haemorrhagic fever (lassa fever), but the result was negative,” Dr. Jannette Hathorn, a Consultant at ECWA Hospital, Egbe said. No restructuring, no 2019 election –Southern leaders, Nigeria Prominent leaders from the Southern part of the country yesterday said without restructuring and devolution of powers, there may be no general election in 2019. This formed part of the discussion held at a colloquium on restructuring organised by the Island Club, Lagos. Saraki, Dogara visit Buhari in London  Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the   House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, are the latest set of delegation to visit President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja House, London. The Presidency twitted the picture of the visit via its twitter handle, Presidency Nigeria @NGRPresident. Buhari has been away for 102 days in London seeking medical consultations with his doctors. The president had told his media team led by Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, when they visited him, that he had improved tremendously in his health, adding that although he wished to return home, he would obey doctor’s orders.
