The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, Dr Matthew Achigbe, has said that the defection of APC Senators and House of Representatives members will not affect the party’s chances of emerging victorious in 2019. Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has spoken about the police seige on his residence, that almost stopped him from presiding over Tuesday’s plenary session. Saraki’s home was locked down by police officers and his convoy prevented from leaving the premises, to attend to the invitation by the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim. Four die in open well in Zamfara The entire community of Lungun Attah in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State has been thrown into mourning following the mysterious death of four youth in a well on Saturday. Investigation indicate that one Hajiya Hassi Mai Allura, a widow had ordered her two children, Yahaya, 25, and Iliyasu Mai Allura, 20, to drain the contaminated water in a well through the use of a water pump.
