Man dies leaving 14 years Christmas gifts for young girl

A family were shocked to discover their elderly neighbour had wrapped 14 years worth of Christmas presents for their two-year-old daughter before he passed away.
Ken Watson, who was 87 when he died, had lived near to Owen and Caroline Williams in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, for the last two years and was "very fond" of their two-year-old daughter Cadi.
He died recently and on Monday evening, his daughter knocked on the Williams home to deliver the presents, much to the familys surprise.
Owen, 40, said: "My neighbours daughter, Jenny, came round last night and knocked on my door. She had a big plastic bag, which I thought was rubbish she was going to ask me to throw out.
“But, to my shock it was a large sack of presents for Cadi, who is only two years-old, for the next 14 years.
"We both welled up at the door because it was a lovely sentiment. It was like something from a Christmas movie.
"He was very fond of Cadi and gave her a Christmas present every year. Her first was a lovely cuddly soft toy, which he bought for the whole street as well.
"I can only assume he was forward planning or he just saw stuff that he thought Cadi would like and bought it at the time. He was a real character and a lovely man.”
Owen posted about the moving relevation, on Twitter, writing: "Our elderly neighbour passed away recently. His daughter popped round a few moments ago clutching a large plastic sack. In the sack were all the Christmas presents he’d bought for *our* daughter for the next thirteen years."
He then clarified that there are actually 14 presents, so Cadi will have gifts from Ken until shes 16 years old.
Owen shared snaps of the wrapped presents, one of which the family have already opened and its a book, but they have no idea what the rest of the gifts are.
The dad added: "He always told us he’d live till he was 100-years-old, so these gifts would have taken him up to our little girl’s 16th Christmas."
"My wife and I think it might make a nice Christmas tradition to give our daughter a present from Ken for the next 14 years.
The post has since gone viral, garnering over 1,000 retweets and likes.
People on social media have been touched by the elderly mans lovely gesture, with hundreds writing comments about it.
@JojJojoelle said: Beautiful. Utterly beautiful. Dont open them, its the sentiment not that gift that is value. I am sure, theyre timeless anyway.
"As she gets older, she will learn the invaluable lesson, that the greatest gift to receive and give, is the beautiful gift of humanity."
