The Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, has commended Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for sacking Lawal Daura as the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS).
Na’Allah in a statement issued from Washington DC on Tuesday described Daura as one of the most vicious draw back to the present administration, and probably one of the most unreliable security head ever to be produced by any administration since 1999.
“For me, I will say I am vindicated, having earlier complained to the Acting President and the National Security Adviser and so many well-meaning members of the administration on the conduct of Daura.
“He was a man who spent the entire period of appointment shopping for enemies for the Government.
“Every lover of Buhari administration knows that Lawal Daura was a huge minus to anything the administration of president Buhari stands for.
“It will be in the overall interest of our democracy to subject his past activities to scrutiny with a view of bringing him to justice,” he said.
The Deputy Senate Leader advised that, others who have falsely been using the name of President Buhari to perpetrate evil against democracy must as quickly as possible be identified and be shown the way out.
He called on Nigerians to show sufficient understanding of this administration, “so that together we can put the country on the part of acceptable civilised standard.”
