Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom at the banquet hall of the Government House in Makurdi on Monday announced that he is no longer with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Ortom stated this while swearing in the newly appointed Special Adviser on Local Government and Cheftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe, disclosing that the APC had given him ‘red card’ to quit party. Confirming the development to DAILYPOST on Monday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, quoted the governor as saying that, “As for party, I’ve been given the red card and I’m now outside the pitch. NIGERIA: We have lost it completely as a country — Obi  The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has said that all Nigeria needed to do now was to seek men of vision and proven track record to wake her from stupor.   Obi spoke yesterday at the 2018 Making Nigeria Great conference organised by the Summit Bible Church in Abuja. I have not defected from PDP, says Atiku

Atiku Abubakar Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that he is still in the Peoples Democratic Party, urging his followers to disregard a rumor that he has defected to another party. Atiku, who defected from PDP to the All Progressives Congress in 2014, but returned to the PDP early this year, asked his supporters to ignore the rumour. A statement from his campaign office in Abuja on Sunday said the defection rumour was not true. The defection rumour had claimed that Atiku had picked a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Soludo, as his running mate on the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance. But the Sunday statement described the report as “a malicious attempt to confuse the public” about the aspiration of Atiku ahead of the forthcoming presidential primaries election of the PDP.
