BREAKING: Court Dismisses Bail Application Of Nnamdi Kanu

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, refused to admit the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to bail. Justice Binta Nyako, in a ruling, held that since Kanu was earlier granted bail in 2017 and jumped the bail, the court must first determine the real reason he jumped the bail before applying for another one. Justice Nyako then dismissed the application for bail. The court had, on April 8, exonerated the Federal Government on the allegation that the leader of the IPOB was forcefully abducted abroad to stand his trial. Nyako, in a ruling, held that rendition for the purpose of criminal investigation is allowed. Nyako said since Kanu was on a bench warrant, the law allowed that anywhere he is sighted, he can be arrested and be brought to face his trial. “Rendition for the purpose of criminal investigation is allowed. “In the instant case, there is a bench warrant on the defendant (Kanu). Igbo should expect Biafra without gunshot – Uwazuruike

The founding father of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Biafra Independent Movement, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has assured members of the group to expect the creation of Biafra Republic without violence. He also assured that the 19th anniversary celebration of the Biafra independence will be a non-violent one. The celebration is billed to take place on September 13, 2018 in all the zones of MASSOB in the entire Southeastern and South southern states. Uwazuruike, who spoke through the MASSOB National Director of Information, Sunday Okereafor on Friday, stated that the freedom fighting group was happy that for 19 years, the group had maintained peace and non violence in their quest for the actualisation of Republic of Biafra, in the face of crackdown by Nigeria’s security operatives. “Kudos to MASSOB to have kept the struggle without violence for 19 years now.
