Monkey's Dance

 A certain time came, when the animals were in desperate need for a king. The animals therefore gathered; among them were Lion, Goat, Dog, Monkey, Squirrel, Zebra, Donkey, Parrot, Ostrich and so on but none of them was found worthy of becoming a king.

However, they decided to have further meeting in other to choose a king, in respect to the meeting. Dog was sent to inform all other animals of the meeting day but he went perambulating the whole town looking for bone to eat. So, the blue bird was sent instead. On the market day all the animals gathered as was announced. However, on the process of doing the meeting, a fascinating event took place.  Monkey stood up and started dancing just to entertain the audience who gathered. But his little thought earned him the kingship everyone is hoping on. He was cheered for his outstanding awful and impressive dance. So, the animals decided to make him their king.

The monkey then became the king of the animals. This made Squirrel his friend became so angry and jealous of monkey, because he was made king of the animals. So he planned on how to dethrone him. One day as monkey was sitting on his throne; the squirrel came and told him that he has killed a very animal and as his friend who is now king he wish to give him his share first before giving any other person. The king gladly accepted the offer without asking. So he went with Squirrel to his house, unknown to the king that Squirrel had dug a hole and placed a net near the meat. When they got to Squirrel’s house he went straight where his friend kept the meat. And he was trapped in the net. Without hesitation, Squirrel went and called the whole animals that the king has been trapped because of his greed and gluttony. And mocked them for making him a king.

The following day, the Squirrel was made the king of the whole animals while they released monkey. They also collected their crown from him and he went his way dancing joyfully as he normal does.
